The case study, entitled Data Backup and IT-DRM Modernization Generates Significant Savings for the Hay Group, John P Morency, September 18, 2009, highlights how the Hay Group reduced monthly IT operations costs while improving quality of service by outsourcing DR data center management to IPR.

According to the Gartner study, the Hay Group has realized significant savings by outsourcing DR data center management. Canceling maintenance contracts on its entire legacy backup drives and management software, as well as reducing the number of remote office backup technicians, provides monthly cost savings of $10,000. In addition, the combined implementation of virtualization, outsourced DR data center, and a redundant fiber network resulted in a capital cost avoidance of over $2.1 million, while significantly improving the reliability of IT operations failover capabilities providing nearly continuous data availability.
