Conshohocken, PA, September 30, 2009 – IPR International, a leader in data center and disaster recovery services, was recently analyzed in a case study developed by leading analyst firm Gartner, Inc. The case study, entitled Data Backup and IT-DRM Modernization Generates Significant Savings for the Hay Group, John P Morency, September 18, 2009, highlights how the Hay Group reduced monthly IT operations costs while improving quality of service by outsourcing DR data center management to IPR.
“IPR is thrilled to be featured in a Gartner case study,” says Kevin Sullivan, Director of Marketing at IPR. “Gartner is the most recognized and respected information technology research company in the world. They are known for ‘telling it like it is’ providing independent insight to IT leaders. For a small company like IPR, this case study is a valuable tool as it adds credibility to our story.”
According to the Gartner study, the Hay Group has realized significant savings by outsourcing DR data center management. Canceling maintenance contracts on its entire legacy backup drives and management software, as well as reducing the number of remote office backup technicians, provides monthly cost savings of $10,000. In addition, the combined implementation of virtualization, outsourced DR data center, and a redundant fiber network resulted in a capital cost avoidance of over $2.1 million, while significantly improving the reliability of IT operations failover capabilities providing nearly continuous data availability.
